Westons 7th B-Day

This was such a high energy birthday party. We invited 5 kids from the neighborhood, 4 kids from church, and 3 of the kids cousins, together with our 3...oh my, it was busy. There was only 2 parents that stayed to help corral the chaos. We started out with decorating pirate hats to wear on our treasure hunt adventure. We allowed them time to dry by playing a game of stomp the balloon. I will post a video for your enjoyment. We then ate cake and ice cream. That cake was all James's creation. Opening presents was like opening a box of meat in the middle of a wolf pack. I was scared Weston was going to get trampled..lol. James stepped in and started directing children to sit down on the couch to watch. We then headed outside for the treasure hunt. It was very fun and cute watching all the kids with their hats on trying to find the clues to the treasure box. ...the boys told me they had a blast...that makes it all worth it.

Hip ship, Jamie. I guess it's a little (only a tiny bit) better than the 'sleeping' dragon last year. I am laughing as I write this. And what cute kids. I guess it's not too cold outside as no one was really wearing a coat. Hearing your description of the party I don't feel I missed out on all that much. hordes of screaming children = a nightmare.

Brings back memories of last years cake making fiasco: Nerissa and I laughing hysterically, James pouting in the corner. Ah the memories! This years cake turned out better without Rissa and I to help! Sounds like you did a great job with the party! And you are brave parents, arrrrr.

The amazing thing about this cake was how easy it was. It took probably 15 minutes to make the basic design. After that a simple icing job and then a few finishing touches. Looks great with no stress.
